Dr. Laura Black studies group deliberation and dialogue in public and
organizational settings. Her research focuses on conflict, identity, and
storytelling, and she is particularly interested in how the experience of
democratic deliberation influences participants sense of collective or
civic identity. She has studied online discussion groups, juries, public
meetings, and organizational teams.
