Ms. Kathy Berggren is a Senior Lecturer and teaches COMM 201, Oral Communication, and COMM 398, Issues in Teaching Communication. She advises the Women in Communication and the Help A Life organizations, facilitates the department’s internship program, and is the department’s Summer Session Coordinator. Serving on the National Board of Directors of AWC has broadened her perspective and connection to the communication industry. She incorporates the notion of audience analysis by realizing that people only learn new material based on their prior knowledge and extends this premise to her service and outreach interests in special needs advocacy and health communication.
